The main emphasis of tours and safaris in Namibia is on the country's wild, vast desert and semi-desert landscapes. The scenery varies between canyons, red dunes, rugged moon- like landscape, salt pans, dry savanna thornveld to wetlands. Each area offers tours and or safaris that highlight the aspects unique to it.

You could divide Namibia up into about 10 regions of interest, and these would be: the Fish River Canyon, the Sossusvlei area, Windhoek, Swakopmund, the Skeleton Coast, the central & Waterberg areas, Damaraland, Etosha, the Caprivi Strip and the Owamboland (far north).

Although there is some fantastic game viewing to be done in parts of Namibia, it is essentially more a desert destination.
